HHS Welcomes You to our website for the animals!
We have a lot of information to share, Please click on the Tabs to the left to explore our site more.

Shelter animals aren't broken. They've simply experienced more than other pets. If they were human, we would call them wise.
They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write....animals dealt a bad hand, but who responded with courage.
Don't pity a shelter animal.....ADOPT ONE! And be proud to have their greatness by your side. .....anonymous

HICKMAN HUMANE SOCIETY IS NOT A SHELTER!
WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER!
WE ARE A 501(C)(3) RESCUE ORGANIZATION.
ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE HOUSED IN PRIVATE FOSTER HOMES.

Who We Are:
Hickman Humane Society, Inc.
is a 501 (c) (3) founded in 1996 by a small group of volunteers who serve to provide animal welfare in Hickman County Tennessee. We are a shelterless society existing in a rural county which has no animal control, no shelter and no local ordinances to control the vast numbers of roaming strays & animal drop off problem. We exist with virtually no community support and actually no support from the county government. Our funding is entirely dependent upon donations. Our group is comprised of dedicated volunteers all over the county that want to save and rescue as many animals as we can.

What We Do:
Hickman Humane is dedicated to animal rescue and welfare. We Rescue and Rehab homeless and abandoned animals in hopes of finding loving forever homes.
  • We offer help to the community with spaying and neutering their animals.

  • We engage in community outreach activities with local schools to help educate children and young adult
about animal rescue, responsible pet ownership, proper pet care, etc.

  • We also partner with Northern Rescue Groups to help aid in getting these animals loving forever homes.

Our General meetings are scheduled for every second Tuesday of the month.

Place: Centerville Public Library in Centerville, Tn 37033

Time: 7:00 p.m.
