Hickman Humane Society

Welcome to our web site!

On this home page, we'll introduce our organization and highlight important areas on our site.

Check out ebay, we have several donated items for sale, in the Collectibles Category.  They are autographed items of Willie Nelson's donated by his daughter, Amy Niccore Nelson, to help us raise money.  She also persuaded Arlo Guthrie to autograph some things and those will also be offered for sale on ebay soon...

Hickman Humane Society, Inc is a 501 (c) (3) founded in 1996 by a small group of volunteers. We are a shelterless society existing in a rural county which has no animal control, no shelter and no local ordinances to control the vast numbers of roaming strays & animal drop off problem. We exist with virtually no community support and actually no support from the county government. Our funding is entirely dependent upon donations.

You should have come to the Wag and Walk today at the Riverwalk in Centerville.  We had a great turnout, enjoyed donated baked goods, had fun walking the dogs, and enjoyed the contests with owners and pets dressed up for Halloween!  And the best part, we made some money for our fosters!

We had our first Wag & Walk event at the Jerry Dixon walking trail at the Riverwalk in Centerville.  We had lots of donated goodies for our bake sale, which we sold all of, and had a great turn out of people and pups.  They came to just walk their dogs, and several came with costumes, owners and pets alike.
We had a best trick contest, a best owner/dog look a like contest, and a best costume contest.  The Hickman County High School art students painted faces and judged the contest.  Great job!
Thanks to Jackie, Becki, and Farrah for organizing a succesful fund raiser.  We raised some money for the fosters and had loads of fun!
Thanks to the volunteers for all you do!  Barbie

PLEASE plan on getting your pet's picture with Santa Claus.  Timeless Treasures will be taking professional photographs on Nov 14th at the Centerville Library, and Nov 21st at the East Hickman Library.  Call Timeless Treasures at 931-623-3470 to make your appointment.

Please get in touch to offer your time to volunteer and your love to be a possible foster.

Since we rely solely on donations to take care of Hickman County's strays, please find it in your heart to donate.
