Success Stories

On this page you will see dogs that we consider special needs due to their age, medical, and emotional needs. Please keep in mind there is nothing wrong with these dogs they just need a little more Love!

April is a very friendly young dog that was found wandering the streets alone. She was still in good weight so we don't think she had been on the streets very long. However we have found that she has seizures from time to time. Not often enough for Medicine but she does have them. When she first came in she has some tumors on her that were removed but can come back. April loves to play ball. She gets along with cats and other dogs but is kind of a loner. She is learning to walk on leash. We gave her the birthday of 11/20/11. She weighs around 40 lbs. and we believe she will not get much bigger. April knows sit and shake! She has beautiful markings on her. April will make a wonderful, loving family member. All she needs is for some one to give her that loving home!

Meet Boscoe!! He is a very fine fellow that has had a rough time in life. He was found as a stray and was then in a wonderful foster home. However the foster's home was tragically hit by a tornado leaving Boscoe homeless once again. He was took into another wonderful foster home.  Although Boscoe was alright, he took a long time to get over the ordeal emotionally. He is very sweet, loving, and attaches himself to his caregiver very strongly. He needs a patient person that can give him the time to adjust. He is a little shy at first but once he warms up he is a big baby. He gets along great with other dogs. He is house broke and sleeps inside at night but likes his outside time as well. Boscoe walks on leash and is crate trained but prefer to be out of crate. He needs a home with a fenced yard where he can go in and out as he wants. This poor boy has been over looked so many times. Boscoe needs a great forever home full of love.  This guy is all you could want in a family pet or companion. Please give him a chance!

This girl is Brownie, a 3 yr. old Brindle mix. She weighs about 40 to 45 pounds. She is very shy at first when you meet her but with time and patience she will warm up to you. It just takes her a little longer to know she can trust you not to hurt her. Brownie is good with other dogs and kids. She love to play! She also like to sleep with you once she get comfortable with you. Brownie is looking for someone who will be patient with her and give her a wonderful forever home. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. All she needs now is a home full of love. Someone to love her and be patient with her.

Love is special, and so is Dillon. Being different doesn’t matter to him, being loved does. Meet Dillon, a mix breed about 2 years old. He is around 30 pounds full grown. He loves to play with toys and other dogs as long as they don’t get to aggressive. He loves petting and attention. He is also deaf. Being deaf does not stop him from being a great dog. Dillon doesn’t want you to feel sorry for him. In fact, he doesn’t even know he is special. But he would like you to know how much love he has to give and help him find a home. He is around 25 pounds and very sweet. He was a stray found along the Interstate. He is a little shy at first but once he knows he can trust you he warms up quickly. Dillon is good with other dogs and kids This little man will make someone a great pet. He is leash trained and crate trained. Dillon is looking for him a home full of love. Please help him find that forever home!

Ebony is a 5 year old beautiful black Lab who is around 75 pounds. He is friendly and lovable. He is ready for his forever home. He is very shy but with time I think he would come around. Poor Ebony has been in a foster home his entire life. He has been here 3 years through no fault of his own! It is sad but black dogs are often overlooked. He has a brother named Shine who he just loves. They are best friends and really need a home together. It would be really nice but either way they both need good forever homes. Please find it in your heart to give this great boy a chance at a great new life with your family. He is up date on vaccines and has been altered. Ebony loves to play with other dogs, chew bones, and toys. He also loves water and attention. Don't let this boy's color throw you off he is a wonderful guy who needs a home and family. Could it be you! His adoption fee has been lowered in hopes of finding his forever home!

Shine is a beautiful 5 year old black Lab mix around 70 pounds. He has a cute shaggy look around his ears and his chin! He is friendly and lovable with his foster family, a bit shy of strangers, but that could be overcame quickly. He is ready for his forever home. Poor Shine and his brother Ebony have been in a foster home their entire lives and are so attached to each other if adopt they need to be together. He has been here 3 years! It is sad but black dogs are often overlooked. Shine loves his brother Ebony, they like to hide from everyone else and just snuggle up and play together. They are very smart guys, they don't potty in their kennel!  It would be so great if they can be adopted together, they don't mind being outside, as long as they are together. They get really nervous if one gets taken out of the pen and the other is left behind. Please find it in your hearts  to give this great guys a chance at a great new life with your family. He gets along with other dogs and loves affection. We think he is about 7 years old. He is a very laid back guy. He would make a great companion pet for someone. Taylor is leash trained and house broke. If you are looking for a calm gentle boy this is the man. He is very content to lay around on the couch and snuggle with his master. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, on HW prevention, and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $125.
